πŸŽ‰πŸ“–Good Friday/Easter SundayπŸ“–πŸŽ‰

 πŸŽ‰πŸ“–Good Friday/Easter SundayπŸ“–πŸŽ‰

Good Friday is not only just a public holiday but is the day of Jesus crucifixion or the day when Jesus had died on the cross for us/our sins. I say "had died" because Jesus isn't dead, in the bible it says that he had been crucified on good Friday and resurrected on the third day, Easter Sunday.
Basically Good Friday is about the rememberance Jesus crucifixion.
Easter Sunday is a holiday for us religous people where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Why Sunday? Because as I mentioned before Jesus had died on Good Friday and had resurrected on the third day Sunday, two days after Good Friday.

Here are some facts about EASTER!:
- You all know that Easter is about the celebrating of Jesus resurrection.
- Jesus died on Good Friday and resurrected on Easter Sunday, two days after Good Friday.
- Although egg's have nothing to do with the death and resurrection of Jesus, some say that the eggs is an ancient symbol of "new life", they say that the Easter eggs represent Jesus emergance from the tomb and resurrection.
- Did you know that the first person to see Jesus after he resurrected was a woman named mary Magdalene.

πŸŽŸπŸŽ³Day Out! - Voom (Virtual Realtiy) - Bowling/Prize Zone🎳 πŸŽŸ

Kia Ora and greetings to you all!! Within this blog I will be blogging about what i've been doing during this school holiday's. As you all know in my previous blog i've blogged about my day out to the Easter show held at ASB showgrounds. Well this week Wednesday had an AMAZING day out with my family, at first we were planning to go Ice skating then after Ice skating we were going to go to botany's Time Zone! Later on not long before leaving plans had changed and we decided to check out this virtual reality place instead which beileve me wasn't as exciting as Ice skating would've been, although I still enjoyed the virtual reality AND bowling/Prize Zone. We were on our way to the Virtual reality in New Market when we found out it dosen't open til 12:30am and when we looked at the time it was only 11:00am so we tried to find something to do while we waited for the virtual reality to open, we were going to go to botany's Time Zone when suddenly we found out that there was a closer Time Zone(well Prize Zone). If I had to rate New Markets "Prize Zone" out of 10, I would rate it 6,
1. Because some arcade games don't work properly
2. and because they needed to upgrade their bowling alley in general
other than that I think that everything else was okay, to be honest I really only liked their arcade games although some wouldn't work as suppose to they were still fun. After waiting an hour and half for the virtual reality to open we then walked across the road and had a little tour around the place, after touring the place we then had a go, there wasn't much space in the building but it was still exciting to play, me and my three younger siblings played this four player virtual reality game and were in two teams playing against each other, I was the winner or the player how had most kill's. After having an exhausting day having fun we then stopped by at the KFC in glen innes and had lunch. This week really was a blast/amazing, next we will be heading to Snowplanet!

Talofa lava and welcome back to my blog! As you all know we are now in school holiday's, my first week of school holiday's has been a BLAST!!πŸ”₯πŸ’₯
This week from Thursday til next week Monday an Easter show will be held at the ASB showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland. Within this Easter show there will be Rides, Games, show's, a circus and many more! To enter is for free, before 7pm the rides are cheaper but after 7pm you would have to pay for one person while having to give a ticket for the other when going on rides. My favourite thing about the Easter show was the rides, there were lots of rides, many more than before and they were all exciting and frightening at the same time(well some of them).

Here is a presentation about my experience at the Easter show:

I enjoyed my day at the Easter show and cannot wait til next year!!

πŸŽ’πŸ«End Of Term 1 ReflectionπŸ«πŸŽ’

πŸŽ’πŸ«End Of Term 1 ReflectionπŸ«πŸŽ’
IALT: Write a reflection about the Term.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today is the start of our first school holiday's for THIS year! Im both glad and sad, already this term has been a BLAST! It's been a really fast term, time does fly when you're having fun. It's sad that this term has already ended so soon but I am really looking forward to Term 2.

My 3 Highlights of the Term:

- The week 4 sleepover at school:
This year's sleepover was amazing! During THAT Thursday of course we had our usual Technology sessions during the morning block and then from there we were dropped off at the Panmure Swimarama Lagoon Pool. There at the pools we had fun activities, races, and had our own free time during our day at the pools. After our day at the pools we all left back to TPS (Tamaki Primary School) so that we could go home to pack our things that were needed for the sleepover, we all met back at the school around 4:30 or 5:00 to start our evening with skits and chants, we were all put into 5 or 6 separate groups and were given a phrase which had to be used in our skit. After preparing our skits and chants we all presented both items infront of the class to help us feel comfortable with in the class. The rest of our evening was basically us getting to know each other, we played touch, had our own dance battle, had dinner/desert and watched a movie(Megamind) before heading to bed.

- Our sports tournament's:
So far this year we have already had three sports tournaments, Softball, Cricket, and Volleyball. Out of all three sports I really enjoyed playing Volleyball, Although us Year 8's placed 5th I still enjoyed my day playing Volleyball. As you know from one of my previous blogs one of my 5 goals for this year is to join ALL sports, which is what I am doing and so far I am really enjoying playing each sport, our next upcoming sport is... Soccer!

- Technology:
Every year us Year 7 and 8's have Technology session's ever Thursday's, we have our three classes Hard material's, Cooking, and Graphics! Right now I am in Graphics, not too sure yet but what I know is that my next class is probably Hard material's, for Graphics we have Ms. Ferguson, we are currently working on creating our clocks, if you haven't read my previous Technology blogs please do go back and read my blogs just to keep you all updated on what we are currently doing each week. I really enjoy designing and creating my clocks, it helps me improve my art skills.

5 Students I enjoyed hanging out with during the term:
Hiria, Falakika, Syraiah-lee, Louvina, Hope and of course my best friends Lydia, Grace, Stephney, Helena, and Arizona.

Hiria:
Hiria is such a comedian meaning she’s really funny, energetic, ALWAYS is a good/happy mood and has become one of my best friends.

Falakika:
Falakika is the kind of person that you want to be around, although she's very quiet around others she is very loud and different whenever whenever I see her. She also has an AMAZING voice!

Syraiah-lee:
Syraiah-lee is always in a happy mood, she’s joyful, also energetic, such a fun person to hang out with, and has an AMAZING voice!

Louvina:
Louvina, yet we have another comedian here, she is very funny and is a great friend. She's very tough and finds different ways to cheer or make my laugh.

Hope:
Hope is my sister and is also my close friend, she is a great person, she is always into learning and gets along with everyone really well.

(Click HERE to view the DLO clearly)

This term was basically about team building and getting to know one another, I made more and new friends and feels comfortable when im around my class mates. With in one of my previous blog's you will find that I blogged what my goals are for this year. My five goals for this year is to:
- Recieve the Dux award
- Improve in Maths
- Join every sport
- Participate/Be an active member
- Be Confident
What I think I achieved this year was being able to make new friends with in the class and is being able to share my ideas or thoughts with in my group during any group task. I am really looking forward to playing/joining more sports next term and MORE trips that I hope will happen. I'm curious to know who our Room 10 teacher will be and hope that nothing will change during the holiday's.

🏫πŸ‘₯House MeetingsπŸ‘₯🏫

🏫πŸ‘₯House MeetingsπŸ‘₯🏫

Hello everyone! For today I will be blogging about our House meeting, WHICH happened just yestereday. You all know that near the end of every year we have our house meetings, our house meetings are usually two or three weeks before our BIG event, Athletics! But this year we've had an earlier house meeting, this meeting was different to our usual meetings.

As you all know there are FOUR house groups which is:

- Tripoli - Blue
- Tobruk - Red
- Alamein - Yellow
- Benghazi - Green

This meeting was just us students (from Year 6's - Year 8's who are not student leaders) having the opportunity to volunteer as a leader for each house groups, usually we have our student leaders lead the house groups but for this year us student leaders AND teachers wanted to give the other students the oppurtunity to once become a leader which can help them build their leading skills and confidence. My house group or the house group that I am in is the one and only Tripoli!
(Here is an image of the house groups)

There were at least ten students who volunteered to become the leaders of their house groups, here are the students names who wanted to become a house leader:

- Hope.L
- Lily.U
- Mariah
- Michael
- Lopiseni
- Suave
- Deniro
- Tasi
- Harley
- Raymond

Well that is all that I can remeber.

While Kelly and Grace got everyone to vote for who they wanted us Year 7 and 8's had our house group practice our chants, after having all students vote Kelly and MrJ come to a desicion, each group had to have 2 captains to lead the group, these captains will NOT be announced UNTIL the first week of Term 2!

IAL: How to solve equations using the method "short division."

Today for Maths we were learning how to solve equations using short division, some may know how to use short division and others may not, for those who do not know how to use the method "short division" let me show you how. At first I didn't know what short division was and how this method works but during our Maths session I learnt the process of short division.
Here is the example:

369 ÷ 20 = 16 (Remainder) - 19

This method was difficult for me to use but throughout our Maths session I started understanding the process of it. My next step in Maths is to understand how to use the Method Algebraic.

✍🏾⏰Technology - Graphics⏰✍🏾

Technology Graphics
IALT: Create a design for my clock/create my OWN clock.

Kia Ora and greetings to you all, welcome back to my blog! My first blog for today will be a reflection about Technology this week. Last week for Graphics we had to continue with our sketching our designs for our clocks, for today we started creating our clocks. As we gathered around the front table we had Ms. Ferguson show us the process of creating our clocks.
Here is the process:

- The first step to creating your clock is drawing the shape of your clock (circle, square, rectangle etc.) twice on a A3 so like cardboard plastic paper.
- The second step to creating your clock is drawing a square in the middle of your shape, the sides have to be 80millimeters.
- The next step is to then cut it all out.
- The next step is to then draw a 80mm rectangle with a 40mm for the top and bottom line. Then you will split the rectangle into 10, 20, and 10 like this.
- Then will then fold the rectangle having 3 sides.
- After doing these steps you will then glue the rectangle to your shape or clock. (These were all the steps that were given to us.)

After following the first few steps my clock almost came out how I wanted it to be. I CANNOT wait til my clock is completed as you all know I designed a music and emoji clock, so I had to choose ONE design and it HAD to be the laughing emoji clock.

IAL: How to be a smart learner

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! Today after our lockdown drill/pracrtice we had Miss Collins come into our class yet again for Cybersmart. Last week for Cybersmart we had to comment on our buddy class blog's, Marshland School and Awahono School. This week for Cybersmart we had to blog about our lockdown drill experience and was shared a slide which required us to take screenshots of our bookmark sites.

Here is my bookmark presentation:

IALT: Stay safe

Talofa lava and greetings to you all! Welcome back to my blog, as you all know that near the end of every year we have a "Lockdown Drill/Practice." Instead of having our Lockdown Practice near the end of the year we had it near the end of this term, term 1. Today after taking the role we had a whole school meeting in the hall. During this meeting Mrs. Kelly was explaining to us WHY this was happening, WHAT was going to happen, and WHAT we need to do during this time.

After this whole school meeting we ALL walked back to our classes, the Kia Manawanui Syndicate split into our two groups/classes, today at 10:00am after our Maths session we heard an on and off bell ringing for at least 3 or 4 times which was the signal for us students AND teachers to get to saftey and lay on the floor in the middle of the class. All students dropped to the floor and layed down for at least 15-20 mins while all teachers had their laptops/phones to contact one another. We all kept quiet and it almost felt as if NO ONE was at school. All doors were locked and this Lockdown practice was going to help us when the time DOES come, this drill happened so that when the time comes we know what is happening and what to do.

After waiting 15-20 mins our deputy principle (Mr Reddy) came to each class and gave us the OK meaning everything is fine and that we can get back to our   learning.
