 ๐Ÿ‡ผ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒบSamoan Language Week๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ‡ผ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Talofa Lava and greetings to you all!! As it says in the title it is Samoan Language Week!YAY! As you all know each class at least prepares an item for the special asembly which is held on Friday whenever there is a cultural language week, in this case, Samaon Language Week. For Samoan Language Week room 9 & 10 have prepared two items, the first item which is a siva samoa will be shown by the room 9 & 10 girls while the room 9 & 10 boys will be showing the samoan haka. The name of the song us room 9 & 10 girls will be dancing to is called "Loimata o le fia fia"  we've been practicing this siva samao since last week Wednesday, I think that the siva samoa that the girls have prepared is going great and I would say the same as for the boys item. Enjoy the rest of the week, Samoan Language Week!!

IALT: Explore and find out more about other's blog's.

Talofa Lava and welcome back to my blog! The title says it all, about what this blog is going to be about, Cybersmart - Blog Detective. First of all I would like to start off this blog by explaining what we had to do with this DLO:

1. We had to choose one blog we have been exploring BUT for our first blog detective we had to explore our OWN blog.

2. We then had to tak some time to explore the/each blog posts and blog profile.

3. After exploring the blog posts and profile we then had to record what we know about the blogger using the information with in their posts and profile.

After completing all three steps we would then move into creating yet another but the same DLO but this time you will be exploring another person's blog but before getting into someone else blog let me show you my blog detective on my OWN blog:

IALT: Knowning the difference between personal and private information.

Bula Vinaka and welcome back to my blog! For today's blog I will be reflecting about what we had done today for Cybersmart with Mrs Collins. Today during the second block we were given our first task, with in our first task we had to organise different information that we think can be personal and private information in the correct column, information that is safe to share online and information that is NOT safe to share online.
Here is an example:
(Click HERE to veiw the DLO clearly)

So basically what we've done here is just making decisions about what information is okay to share online and what information should be kept private. Before finishing this blog I would just like to say that it is important to know what information is safe and not safe to share online, just be safe online, be cybersmart.

๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐ŸŽฎOMGTech Experience๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐ŸŽฎOMGTech Experience๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
IAL: how to create my own game using Technology.

Talofa Lava and greetings to you all, with in this blog I will be blogging about my day with other 23 students along with Mr. Reddy and Kelly at OMGTech. From what i've heard or what I know is that OMGTech is basically a gaming area where we basically create games of our own which is awesome. I was lucky enough to be picked to attend this speacial trip. Although the space was small it was still fun, all 24 students were divided into 2 big groups so basically it was Year 7 & 8's as the first group and the Year 5 & 6's as the second group.

The first group (Year 7 & 8's) were creating games online using computers while the second group (Year 5 & 6's) were creating games offline. We were instructed to go on this site called Scratch, Scratch is a gaming site where we can veiw/play other games and create our own game using codes and etc. I cannot remember the second site we used to create another type of game but it was difficult I found that the first site "Scratch" was easier to use than the second site, I almost didn't see any game during the second session but then as I got through I started to see the game which suprised me. What I found challenging during both sessions was knowing how to use the sites to create our game, I didn't know how hard it was to create a game (well it's both easy and hard) BUT what I enjoyed about out two sessions at OMGTech was that I got to create my own games and got to use different sites for the two different games. What I learnt from this trip to OMGTech was knowing how to code which was difficult at first but then got easier as we went through. Before finishing I would like to say a BIG thank you to Mr Reddy and all those who made this trip possible for us students, and to OMGTech for having us. I really enjoyed my day at OMGTech and once again I would like to say thank you!

๐Ÿ‘ฅ✋Pink Shirt Day✋๐Ÿ‘ฅ

๐Ÿ‘ฅPink Shirt Day๐Ÿ‘ฅ

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! Although Pink Shirt Day was last week I will be blogging about it today. As you all know it was Pink Shirt Day at T.P.S (Tamaki Primary School), we all had to wear pink as a symbol to stand against bullying.

Story behind Pink Shirt Day:
From what i've heard Pink Shirt Day is all about a boy named Chuck McNeill in ninth grade who lived in Nova Scotia, Canda and was bullied for wearing a Pink Shirt on the first day of school.

An assembly was held on the day last week were the Student Leaders had prepared a play about the story of Chuck McNeill:

Cast:
Lydia - Director
Me - Narrator
Fe'ao - Chuck McNeill
Stephney - 1 Bully
Hiria - 2 Bully
Coralee - 3 Bully
Auckland - 1 Student
Paula - 2 Student
Grace - 3 Student
Falakika - 4 Student

Once every year we have this day where we wear Pink to help stand against bullying. Before finishing I would like to say that I think this is a good idea, not only because we get to wear mufti but because I think that it's great that almost everyone around the world wear pink in support or those who are getting bullied and to symbolise a stand against bullying.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ⭐Alamein Day (Thursday)⭐๐Ÿ‘ฅ

Guten Tag and welcome back to my blog! Just letting you all know this blog will be a short blog so let's start this blog off by introducing Alamein.

Alamein is one of our house groups here at Tamaki Primary School, as you all know, we have 4 house groups:

- Tripoli - Blue
 - Alamein - Yellow
 - Benghazi - Green
 - Tobruk - Red

These are the house groups and their colours, did you know that each house group is named after a street or road around our area?
At the end of every Term we have a winner, which ever house group gets the most tokens get to have pizza and sundae's for lunch and a day were the whole school has to wear the winning house colour, so because Alamein won last term they got to their day were the whole school had to wear Yellow and pizza/sundae's for lunch!

That is all for this blog and thank you!

๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ˜Tamaki College!๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ’

 ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ˜Tamaki College!๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ’

Bonjour and greetings to you all! With in this blog I will be reflecting about my experience at Tamaki College along with the Year 8 students if T.P.S (Tamaki Primary School). To start of this blog I will like to start of by reflecting about how the Music session was. Firstly we started our Music session by intrducing ourselves, well by being introduced by the person sitting beside you. We had to sit next to someone that we usually don't sit next to and so I sat next to Carra and David. With the person beside us we had to discuss:

 - What instrument/s we play
 - Who our favourite artist was
- What type of music we like to listen to, (example: R&B, Hip Hop).

After 2 or 3 mintues we all had to introduce the person beside us.

Carra:
An instrument that Carra plays is the piano, she didn't tell me who her favourite artist was and she likes to listen to R&B music.

David:
David doesn't play any instrument but he did tell me what instrument he would like to play which I have no idea what (I forogt). He also didn't tell me who his favourite artist is and also didn't tell me what type of music he likes to listen to.

After introducing each other we then got into groups of 3, 4 or 5 and had a...
SING OFF!! Me, Lydia, Grace, and Stephney were together and we were called the "4 question marks" which was an interesting name, your probably wondering how we got our name, long story short we couldn't figure out a group name so Mr called us the "4 question marks." We started off by singing nursery rhymes and every time a time didn't come up with a song to sing then they would be eliminated. At the end me and my group won which was a suprise.

After our sing off we then followed Mr to the drum room (well actually it's called the band room) and there we got to play the drums, De niro and Fe'ao volunteered to drum first, I was next and to be honest I love playing the drums (and keyboard), did you know that I use to play the drums when I was at the age of 5 or 6, so i've had some experiences. After a while of playing the drums and keyboard we then moved onto our next activity of the day, P.E.

As we made our way into the rec center next door to TC (Tamaki College) we saw nets been set up by two P.E instructors, next thing we know, we're playing Badminton, so we grab a bat and a shuttlecock and had to see how much hits we can get in three minutes, we were told that the highest in three minutes was 42, my best was 35 which is close to 42. After the three minutes of hitting the shuttlecock we then got into partners and played a little game of badminton. Next we then moved into playing 2 on 2 and this was my favourite part of the day, there were soem funny moments and other moments were things got serious. We ended our day at Tamaki College by meeting back at the library and thanking the deputy principle and Tamaki College students for having us.

At first I wasn't looking forward to spending half of the day at Tamaki College, but after all the fun that had happen I regret what I said and was glad that we did spend almost the whole day at Tamaki College. Hope to go back soon and thank you! Please feel free to give feedback.Related image

๐Ÿ™❤️ANZAC Item❤️๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ™❤️ANZAC Item❤️๐Ÿ™

Hola and welcome back to my blog! For today's blog I will be sharing with you all about what we (me and my group) planned for our speacial Anzac service. First of all to start of this reflection I would like to explain what me and my group planned for the Anzac by listing the ideas we had come up with.

Our first two ideas were to create...:

- A poster
- A Poem

Before deciding which item was best we then came up with a idea that would include both ideas, a picture video. A picture video is basically using images/pictures that relate to the poem or story instead of just reading the poem/story. Here is the poem we found online and used for our picture video:

"April 25th a long time ago,
You went to battle at dawn,
Many lost their lives that day,
Together we will mourn.
More than that though,
We will march and remember those brave men,
For they went to war and battled on,
They fought for our freedom then,
Through the darkest nights and the longest days,
Through muddy grounds you go,
You marched on and looked behind,
And you saw the poppies grow.
We will wear one on this day,
To remember your courage - so strong.
We want you to know that in our hearts,
Your memory still lives on."

Lest we forget.

Before finishing this blog I would like to say that creating this item with my group was amazing and even though we haven't finished just yet dosen't mean you won't be able to see it. Thank you to those who were brave enough to go to war to fight for our country, please feel free to give feedback and once again Thank you!
"Lest we forget."

๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️๐Ÿค”Manaiakalani Learner Questionnaire๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️

 ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️ ๐Ÿค”Manaiakalani Learner Questionnaire ๐Ÿค” ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! Yesterday because the student leaders were away at the National Young Leaders Day at the vodafone event center in Manukau we had to complete the Manaiakalani Learner Questionnaire that had been shared with us.

These questions were about how we use our netbook for our learning, what we use our netbook for, and if our learning is going well. Our thoughts on all these questions were to let or help the Manaiakalani staff make our learning better for us. I enjoyed filling this questionnaire, it made me think twice to be able to answer each question.

Before finishing off this blog I would like to say that filling this questionnaire was good or me and that I think that this is a good idea to get young primary students like us to share our thoughts about how our learning is going. Please feel free to give feedback, thank you!

IALA: The different changes both boys and girls have while going through puberty.

Bula Vinaka and welcome back to my blog! With in this blog I will be reflecting on what we had during the first block with Tony. First of all to start this reflection I will be listing the changes that will happen when your going through puberty:
- Relationships with others
- Gain Weight
- Voice changes
- You become more mature
- Height
- Gain weight
- Pimples
- Grow hair around your body
and etc.

These are only a few changes that i've listed, here is a google drawing explaining which gender are most likely to experience these changes that will happen when experiencing puberty:
(There are more but this is jsut a list of some changes)

All these things with in this list were mentioned in our puberty session with Tony, basically he was just explaining what happens and when puberty happens, after spending half of the first block talking about puberty we then were split into our two separate classes. You all know that every time when having Tony we have workshops after the presentation soooo that is what we had, during our(Room 9) workshop with Tony we listed down the changes that we go through during puberty and decide wether each gender experience is the most or both, which is what I did up top with the google drawing. We then played two games:
1. Heads and Tails
2. "Sit down if..."

Basically our workshop was all about knowning the changes while going through puberty and understanding why we go through puberty. That is all for this blog and please feel free to give feedback, thank you!

๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘ฅNYLD - National Young Leaders Day๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐ŸŽ‰

 ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘ฅNYLD - National Young Leaders Day๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐ŸŽ‰
IALH: To become a better leader through conversations

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog!
For today’s blog I will be reflecting about my day and what happened. NYLD - National Young Leaders Day is all about young leaders from many different schools in Auckland coming together and having guest speakers come to talk to us about becoming a better leader and making a difference through conversations. Today our school students leaders along with Ms. Aireen and Kelly made our way into the Vodafone Event Center located in Manukau, this years guest speakers were Dr Lehan Stemmet, Hana Tapiata, Ronnie Taulafo, Christian Gallen, NZ musician, Kings, and of course our two hosts Liz Alexander and Phil Baker.

This years whakatauki (which is a Maori proverb) is:

He aha te kai a te rangatira?
He korero, he korero, he korero.
What is the food of a  leader?
It is conversations.

Guest Speakers:

1. Hana Tapiata:
What i've learnt from Hana is that in times of trouble there is always two voices going through your head, a negative voice and yet a positive voice. "Always listen to your positive voice." Was one of her advice to us. I also learnt that when having conversations your talking but also listening where as some of us do ALL the talking while the other is just listening and this is not what she meant by "Talking and listening." You both have to take turns talking and listening in order to create a conversation which will help make you become a better leader.
Quote:

- "Always listen to your positive voice."

2. Christian Gallen:
Christian told us a story about his friend James, back in school one day his teacher left the class and so the class decided to do their own thing, when the "popular" girl stood in front of the class and suddenly the class became quiet, the girl then asked everyone who hated another girl in the class to stand up, everyone stood up EXCEPT James (Christian's friend), James had a voice in his head saying "Wait, this isn't right" and so he stayed seated and one by one everyone sat back down while James confronted the "popular" girl and from this I learnt that you should treat others the way you want to be treated.

- "Treat others the way YOU want to be treated."

3. Ronnie Taulafo:
Ronnie Taulafo's talk was one of my favourites, he told us that as a kid he couldn't talk or understand his language which I can relate to, im Samoan AND Tongan but I can't talk or understand (well some) any language, not even ONE and yet im still learning. Ronnie's advice/quotes to us was to:

- "Never stop learning."
- "Learning takes time."
- "Conversations will build you as a leader."

4. Dr Lehan Stemmet:
Dr Lehan was ANOTHER favourite of mine reason why is because his experience in becoming a leader and quotes/advice inspired me.
Quotes/Advice:

 - "Communicate to lead,
Communicate to connect."
To me this means for you to be able to become a better leader you need to communicate with others in order for you to help them and yourself lead to where you want to be.

- "We" is more important than "Me"
Sometimes becoming a leader can get in the way and effect your relationships with others, you can get caught up in things and can also be busy which will make others think that you don't have time for them which will cause you both to drag apart from each other, one thing that I mentioned before is that to become a better leader you need to COMMUNICATE, it's not about you but it's not about them either, its about you both making a difference and working together to fulfill your responsibility as a leader and to lead yourself and others to where you want to be.

 - "Respect people not for what they do but for who they are."
- "The right thing to do is never the easy thing to do, but the easy thing to do is never the right thing to do."

5. Kings:
NZ musician, Kings another favourite was talking about his experience in becoming a leader/singer and how that came to be. He was very creative back then when making music, he told us that back then he didn't have drums so he would use pots, pans .etc as his drums which is very creative. What i've learnt from his talk is that knowing who you are can inspire you to do great things.
Quote:
- "Follow your dream!"

Listening to the guest speakers talk about their experiences in becoming a leader was my highlight of the day (besides Kings performances). Before ending this blog I would just like to give a HUGE thank you to Ms. Aireen, Kelly, Mr. Reddy and those who made this trip happen, im really glad that it did happen and also a BIG thank you to the guest speakers. Here are a few photos:

๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ˜Back To School ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ’

 ๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ˜Back To School ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ’
IALT: Blog about my FIRST day back to school.

Talofa lava and welcome back to my blog! For today's blog I will be reflection on my first day backat school, As you all know(or maybe not) Term 2 started this week Tuesday on the 30th of April, Monday was Teachers Day Only so we had one more day off from school but I had yet another extra day off due to money problems.

So I came back to school on Wednesday, my first day back at school was tiring, interesting, and yet exciting(kind of). I was VERY excited to see my friends and was very eager to get back to learning. During the first block both classes were separate meaning Room 9 had their lesson in Room 9 instead of having both classes in Room 10, this term i've heard that we might be splitting classes instead of having one big class (Room 9 and 10). As I was saying during the first block we had Maths and Cybersmart with Mrs.Collins. For Maths Yesterday we had to write down in our books sums that were given on the presentation that had been shared with us.
(Here are the sums)
With the sums on the right for each two sums we were given different strategies to use to solve each sum. After our Maths session we then had Mrs.Collins come in to teach us about our Digital Footprint, Digital Footprint is similar to the footprints you leave while walking on sand at the beach except the footprints you leave at the beach will wash away but a DIGITAL footprint wont be able to wash away, it stays forever. If you were wondering A Digital footprint is what you leave behind when you go on any site where some may ask for your private information even though it may seem as if they're not.

During the second block of the day me and 5 other student leaders were sent to the hall to prepare an item for the Anzac sevice which will happen tomorrow and During the last block as a WHOLE class (Room 9 and 10) we were separated into groups of 4 or 5 and had to come up with an item or idea to present at the Anzac service tomorrow. That is all for today's blog and please feel free to give feedback.

๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ขMovie - Avengers End Game! ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐ŸŽฅ

 ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ขMovie - Avengers End Game! ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐ŸŽฅ

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! For today's blog I will be blogging a reflection about the Avengers End Game Movie!! To be honest before even watching the movie I decided to read all the spoilers JUST BECAUSE most people were already spoiling the movie saying that(sorry to those who haven't watched the movie yet) iron man and black widow DIES!!
Last week Sunday on the 28th of April me, my siblings and some members from our church(9 years- 13 years old) went to manukau event cinemas, were we watched Avengers End Game.
We were told that the movie would start at 1:00pm so we arrived half an hour early but when we arrived at the cinema half an hour BEFORE 1:00 we suddenly found out that the movie really didn't start until 2:30pm which was a disappointment.
Avengers End Game is like a part 2 of Avengers Infinity War, Avengers End basically is all about how the Avengers travel back in time to collect the infinity stones which were destroyed in the begining by Thanos so that they can bring back those who had disapeared in Avengers Infinity War.
You've all probably heard but for those who haven't of course Black widow and Iron man dies, as the Avengers travel back in time to collect the infinity stones there is a soul stone where Black widow and Hawkeye were sent to and to be able to recieve the soul stone you would have to sacrifice the one you love, which in Avengers Infinity war for Thanos to recieve the soul stone he sacrificed his daughter, Gamora which had me bursting in tears.
Although in Avengers End Game Black widow offered to sacrifice her own self to be able to recieve the soul stone because Hawkeye had a family meaning a wife and kids. This part was interesting but also depressing, both Avengers offered and fought but at the end they were both hanging off the cliff having Hawkeye (aka Clint) hold Black widow trying to save her from falling to her death where as Black widow (being held by Hawkeye) suggested that he let her go BUT he didn't so she pushed her-self off the mountain and fell to her death which made me burst into tears. Where as Iron man when stealing the infinity stones from Thanos and applying it to his amour and because it was to powerful, he couldn't handle it and died after one click which was very depressing. Near the end you will find that while Captain America, Thor, and Iron man are fighting against Thanos that Captain America is able to take control or lift Thors hamer.

I don't want to spoil the movie more so I before ending this reflection I would like to say a few things(about the movie experince). The movie was worth watching and to be honest my favourite Avenger would have to be Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. I suggest that you watch this movie. That is all for now and feel free to give me feedback, thanks!
