Te Tuhi Reflection

Te Tuhi Reflection
Describe the steps you took to create on my artwork - “I am NZ”. To start off our artwork (“I am NZ”.) there were 4 steps to making this wonderful piece of artwork (Printmaking). The first step includes the 2 painting strokes, the first painting stroke was painting our clear sheet up and down, after we have finished painting up and down we start dabbing ( paint dabbing). Paint dabbing is where you get your paint brush and start press against the piece of artwork lightly.

During this second step after doing the 2 strokes and leaving it to dry Salome (our art gallery guide) gives us a painted clear sheet that is dry and with that dry painted clear sheet we use that to trace our block letters and start drawing our practise artwork with a pencil.

This next step (Step number three) after having about 15 minutes of drawing and tracing we move onto the next step which is Etching. Etching is where you have this Etching tool that has a pointy end on one side and a big round end on the other side, so what you do is you grab the Etching tool and you use it to go around your piece of artwork to make more clear to see.

At last the final step to printmaking is choosing a colored paper and once you’ve picked your colored paper you have completed your artwork. 2) Reflect on your Etching skills - was this a new art skill for you? When we got up to the part where we have to start Etching our work I thought that it would be easy but then when I actually started doing it I knew that Etching a piece of artwork is hard but it was a new skill for me, after getting used to etching my artwork it slowly started to become a simple skill. 3) Reflect on the end product of your artwork. At the near end of printmaking I could see that it our artworks where starting to show like for the first time I knew how to printmake. Once we have finished it will look like this:

Maths Reflection

Today I made a google drawing about maths, I wrote my reflection about maths and I think that Mondays maths session was really great. I can't wait for next maths session.

Kiwisport Reflection

On Monday the 18th of March the Kia Manawanui syndicate went out for Kiwisport but first was home group 1. During our kiwisport lesson I learnt how to serve inside the box or square, I also learnt how to serve with the under arm technique. I really enjoyed this weeks lesson.

Self Defence!

WALT: Show what we learned during our Self defence lessons.
Today I made a DLO showing what I learnt during our girls Self defence lessons.
Here in my google drawing I wrote about how Self defence is important, during our lessons with Julie I learnt how to avoid tricky situations, what are the different tyes of movements you can use to protect yourself from trouble, what are the differnces between a bad touch and a good touch.

Figurative Language

WALA: Figurative Language.
SC: Write a definition that makes sense to me.
Write definitions for alliteration and hyperbole.

Today for writing I learnt the about the 2 figurative languages which are alliteration and hyperbole. The definition for Alliteration is when the first letter in most words are the same. An example for alliteraion is 'Alice's aunt ate apples and acorns around August.'

Another figurative language we learnt about today is hyperbole. During our writing session with Ms. Komor we talked about our definitions of hyperbole, we came up with alot of definitions for hyperbole for example, a hyperbole is when you are over exaggerating about stuff/things. After finding the definition for hyperbole Ms. Komor took a paper which had many examples for a hyperbole like I am so hungry I could eat a horse or It will only take me two seconds to get there.

After chatting with Ms. Komor about the 2 figurative languages (Alliteration and hyperbole.)
I now know what is the meaning for both alliteration and hyperbole.

On Tuesday the 27th of February most students were able to swim at the Lagoon pools in Panmure and the rest had to stay behind. I had enjoyed my time at the pools and wish to go again, I think that maybe next time we could probably have more time of free time.

Maths Reflection

WALT: take a test on maths

Today the Kia Manawanui syndicate took a PAT maths test this morning, during the PAT maths test I went through some question that seemed difficult to solve but I managed to complete it and move on. There were also other question I found easy like what's 0.6 + 0.4= ?. What I need to do next time is to finish off the test within the time limit.
