Freestyle Writing - Sun City

Sun City

Questions were being yelled from within the crowd, “This is a very serious problem we have
here, what are we going to do about this?!”
“How are we going to survive? What are we supposed to do?!”
“What about us? What will happen to us?!”

Was this going to be the end of Sun City?...

This unique place, Sun city is filled with people full of joy and excitement, all that you could
feel was warmth and joy, no harm could be brought to this place. No matter how hard you try
to seek for Sun city you will end up with nothing. Sun city isn’t what you might be expecting,
what you think you may see won’t be what you really see. It is said that this place is located
somewhere in between Earth and the Sun, most people would think that Sun city would be
somewhere in space-WHICH, could be true!

All was good at Sun city, everything was well and normal UNTIL something destructive
had hit Sun city, LITERALLY!

This isn't the end of the story, i'll make sure to continue this story and share part 2 with in my next blog post.

Cybersmart - Altered Images

Cybersmart - Is Seeing, Believing?(Part 2)
IALT: Identify what photos or videos that can be altered/edited/changed.

I created this image because I belive that it relates to cybersmarts in many different ways. To me this image is about being careful with who you talk to because you never know what they are capable of. If you get a message from a random person I suggest you ignore it because it could possibly be a scam or someone dangerous. Here is the finished image:

Here is my other altered image, at first this was just a simple plain lemon that had been altered, for this task we were told to alter it again so I wasnt so sure what to do so I got some ideas from other classmates and try to use their idea to combine or mix it up in a way and come up with my own altered lemon.

Now looking at it I wasnt so sure what I was trying to do, my goal right here was just trying to achieve altering this lemon.

Cybersmart - Is Seeing, Believing?

Cybersmart - Is Seeing, Believing?
IALT:Identify photos or videos that can be altered/edited/changed.

Kia Ora and greetings to you all. With in today's blog I will be sharing what both classes room 9 and 10 have done for Cybersmart during the past week. For last week's Cybersmart lesson we were given a presentation to complete titled, "Is Seeing, Believeing?" In each slide we had to list down what things have been altered and why.

Alter - " To change the way something looks, sometimes using a computer or other digital tools."

What i've learnt while completing this presentation is that not everything that we see it true, most photos have been edited to make it more appealing. In my opinion I think that altering photos are sometimes ok just not all the time. We shouldn’t alter photos for our amusement but use it for a better purpose.

Start Of Term 4!

Start Of Term 4!
IALT: Write about my start of the Term

Kia Ora and greetings to you all. I know it may be a bit late to blog about this NOW but I have chosen to continue with this blog just to share with you all how my start of term 4 is going. As you all know this is yet the last term of the year! Which is pretty exciting, moving into College soon, becoming a year 9, making new memories as my years in College go by just as I did here at T.P.S! I was hoping that I would enjoy my last term here at T.P.S but turns out things may have changed. I can't say that im enjoying this term neither can I say that i'm not enjoying this term, all I can say is that I hope the rest of this term goes well and I hope to make as much memories as I can(especially with close friends), moving on we have not as much but many events happening this term. Recently have been training for or Touch tournament which is coming up VERY soon, next we have our Athletics day we have almost EVERY YEAR! Which is not as exciting as it may sound, you all may know who this day goes but for those who don't we basically are put into our age group and experience different skills for the 1st block, then as we move into the 2nd and last block we have the races which is terrifying! Everytime when my age group is being called up for our turn to race I get butterflies and feel as if im about to faint! So right now im not really looking forward to Athletics day, then after that we have our Interschool Athletics tournament which again is basically the same thing as Athletics day but we are gathered with many schools from around our area, it's kind of like a competition. After that we have many other events that im not so sure about but besides that I think this term will turn out great near the end of the term. That is all for this blog, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

Technology - Chicken Curry

Technology - Chicken Curry
WALHT: Cook Chicken Curry.

Talofa lava and welcome back to my blog! It's been awhile since i've blogged and now im here to share with you all yet another blog about our 6th session cooking with
Mrs Tuipulotu! To start of this blog reflection I would like to list down the process of how to cook Chicken Curry:

Step 1 - Peel and slice 5 potatoes into 4
 - Pour 2 cups of water into pot
 - Place potatoes into the pot
 - Wait til potatoes are soft

Step 2 - Slice and dice onion
 - Dice the chicken
 - Pour the onions and chicken into the pan
 - Fry until it is cooked

Step 3 - Add Spices and 1/2 cup of water into the pan
 - Add vegetables into the pan
 - Mix well

Finish - Serve Chicken Curry in a bowl/s
 - Eat!

This is the process of how to cook, well at least this is the process we used to cook Chicken Curry. Moving on, I think that during the cooking lesson we(me and my partner Grace) managed to help each other with each step althought our Chicken Curry wasnt a success I think we did well managing to follow each step. This session was one of those challenging moments but I am willing to face challenges! I hope our next session will be a success until then thank you all for reading, I hope this helped in any way!

Technology - Cooking - Chocolate Muffins

Technology - Cooking - Chocolate Muffins
IALT: Bake Chocolate Muffins

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! For today's blog I will be sharing with you all what my group had made for this week's Cooking session. You all probably have an idea of what we have made for this week's session, if not then please read the title(thanks).

Here is the recipe for Chocolate Muffins:

Step 1 - 1 1/2 cup of S.R flour
2 - 1/4 cup of cocoa
3 - 1/2 cup of sugar

Step 2 - 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 of oil

Step 3 - mix well
- divide into muffin tray
- place it in then oven
- Choose your topping

I wasn't here for half of the cooking session, I arrived late and was only present for half of the cooking session. Because my usual buddy Grace wasn't present I had to help Senitila. What I think was challenging for me was probably mixing the ingredients together because my hand would become sore and having that made my job harder for me but not only was mixing the ingredients hard but also dividing the muffins into the tray. Overall I think that our muffins came out ok, our muffins weren't too sweet so that was ok for us.

Do you like Chocolate Muffins?

Which flavoured muffin do you prefer?
Have you ever baked before?

Technology - Cooking - Lasagne

Technology - Cooking - Lasagne
IALHT: Cook Lasagne

Malo e lelei, Talofa lava and welcome back to my blog! Within this blog I will be sharing with you all what I have learnt at Technology/Cooking, I didn't have time last week to blog about this but luckily I took the time today to blog about Technology/Cooking. First things first, to start of this blog reflection I want to share the recipe/steps to cooking Lasagne(Yumm!)

Here is the recipe:

LASAGNE

Step 1 - Boil lasagne with two cups of water until it is soft

2 - Cook mince until it is cooked, add sauce and cheese

3 - Taste, add salt, spices etc.

4 - Serve

(This recipe may seem short and it is, it's because I only had time to write down most steps, im sorry if I may have forgotten some steps but this is all I have for now)

So there you have it the recipe to making Lasagne, the challenging thing about making this Lasagne together with my buddy Grace was that when it came for me to slice and dice the onions, this was challenging because me crying made it harder for me to cut the onions and it took me awhile but I finally finished. I reckon that making sure the mince was cooked right was a bit challenging for both me and Grace(moslty Grace) because we just weren't too sure about weither it was cooked or not. Overall I think that we did a pretty great job with the pasta, cheese and checking on it to see if it was ready.

This session was most probably the best and most enjoyable session out of all, you all may know that this week is our LAST week of school and I just have to say that I am really excited for this week's coming Technology/Cooking session.

Thank you all for taking the time to read/veiw my blog!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Questions of the blog:

For today's technology session Mrs. Tuipulotu decided for us to cook Tuna Salad, for this session and maybe for the rest of the lessons my buddy will be Grace (Check out her BLOG)

Here is the steps of how to cook Tuna Salad:

Greetings to you all and welcome back to my blog!
During today's blog I am going to be talking about blog commenting on our blogging buddy's blog. Last week Wednesday Room 9 had to explore our blogging buddy's blog and had to choose one student in that class from two different schools to become our blogging buddy for the week/month/term, our blogging buddy's classes are Gisborne Intermediate and St Patrick's.
In each school I chose one student from each of the schools and commented on one of their blogs.
Here are the comments:

πŸ™…‍♀️πŸ—£Addressing CyberbullyingπŸ—£πŸ™…‍♀️

 πŸ™…‍♀️πŸ—£Addressing CyberbullyingπŸ—£πŸ™…‍♀️
IALT: Write an explanation Writing addressing Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is a serious problem that is happening around the world, kids nowadays are taking advantage of their technology and are using it for cyberbullying.

Technology can be used in many different ways for many different reasons, it’s more likely that most teens use technology for cyberbullying. Did you know that 43% of kids have been bullied online which has caused those kids to commit suicide 2 to 9 times. Only a small amount of bullying victims would respond back telling the cyber bullies to stop, where as other bullying victims would ignore the fact that their being bullied and are most likely to commit suicide. 81% of teens think that bullying online is easier to get away with rather than bullying in person which is 100% true.

We all know that their are many reasons for kids to commit suicide but the one most likely reason for kids to commit suicide is beause of bullying, the real question is “What is the reason for kids to bully others when they may have not done anything wrong?” Well there are MANY reasons for kids to bully others, here I have listed and explained the different reasons for why bullies of course bully innocent kids.

Number 1: Trouble At Home - Not all kids have trouble at home but it’s most likely that bullies are troubled because they have problems at home, troubled kids have problems at home because of their parents, it’s most likely that their parents are being abusive and that has caused the child’s behaviour to change at school, troubled kids take out their anger on others who are innocent.

Number 2: Jealousy - Another reason why bullies are who they are is because they are jealous, most bullies target those who have an amazing and positive life BECAUSE they are jealous, the bullies want what they have.

Number 3: Attention - This is yet another reason why bullies are who they are because they want the attention, sometimes bullies get bored and want to seek attention therefore their cause trouble and cyberbully.

There are many more reasons as to why bullies behave the way they do but for now these 3 reasons are the MAIN reasons as for why kids bully others.

To help prevent cyberbullying/bullying, if you see someone being bullied OR if you’re being bullied you can:

  • Stand up for each other
  • Do not follow the crowd
  • Get/ask (for) help
  • Be Confident/Show no fear
  • Hang around with people you trust

IALH: to create a positive digitial footprint.

Welcome back to my blog for Term 3! We are now in week 2 of Term 3 and this blog right here is my first blog of Term 3 2019! There will be another blog talking about my holidays and being back at school. Moving on, during this blog I will be explaining what i've prepared for Cybersmart. Last term for Cybersmart we (Room 9) were given a bunch of task to complete and yet no one really finished all task last term and so we were given 2 or 3 days to complete as much tasks as we can and luckly I completed almost all tasks. Last week Tuesday we had Ms. Collins come in and one by one we all had to present our presentation in front of the class. I was the fourth person to present but a while after me presentation I had to step out of class for a moment so I really coulnt be in class to see who would recieve the prize but as I returned I had just heard that Stanley (check out his blog - Here) had recieved the prize and I agree, Stanley was the ONLY person at that time who had completed the role play showing how to be Cybersmart online. Moving forward, here is my Smart Footprint Learning Reflection Presentation, hope you enjoy:

Technology - Hard Material

Technology - Hard Material

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! This week for Technology at Tamaki College we have just started preparing what we will be making. We had to sketch 8 drawings of woodworks that might be simple and is easy to work with and out of my 8 sketchs,
I have chosen to make a Ship and this will be for my younger brother, he has his own collection of cars, trucks and etc and I thought that I would be good to create something for him that he dosent have but would like, a Ship.
I think this is the best choice because I think its appropriate for a 10 year old, he is old enough to be able to know how to take care and treat things probably or the way their suppose to be used.
It will be used within my brothers car along with trucks and etc. He usually plays with his cars almost everyday.
To summarise this blog, I will be making a Ship for my younger brother. Which will be used with his car/truck and etc collection.
That is all for today's blog and please feel free to give feedback, once again thank you!

IALT: Share my learning with others

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog!! During today's blog I will be sharing with you all what our class, room 9 has prepared for our Ako evening today. You might've not known but Ako evening was planned to be after school on Wednesday but for some reason which im not sure of Ako evening was moved to Thursday, my guess is because most classes were probably not finished with their presentations for Ako evening. First of all I would like to start off this blog by explaining what me and my group have prepared for our Ako evening.

Me and my group (Lydia, Hiria, Hope) decided to prepare a presentation showing four peace activists. In my previous blog you might've read that each one of u girls chose one peace activist each and had to find out HOW those peace activist brought peace to their country.
An example, I chose to research about Ron Kovic, Ron Kovic is a writer, peace activist and was former United States Marine Corps Sergeant, he was shot in the spine, he was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down, Ron Kovic was awarded a purple heart for his courage and service during the vietnam war. To summarise this Ron Kovic brought peace to his country by having the courage to fight at war to bring peace for his country.

Here is the link to my previous blog about Ron Kovic: Peace Activist - Ron Kovic

Here is our presentation we prepared for Ako Evening:
