Music session

Music session.
Today for music we had Caleb remind us what music is and what beat and rhythm is.
For example we talked about what music is, I say that music is sound, we also talked about beat and Caleb reminded us what it is, beat is the steady pulse. So when you are going with the beat you're making sure that you're also in time with the beat.

Today during our music session we played a game called woof at least that's what I think it is, so in this game you need to be in a circle and a beat is played and your hands are near your head, going with the beat if you want to pass it on to the next person you can point your hand to the person next to you and say "Woof" but if you want to pass it back to the person that passed it to you, you can say "Woof Woof" and at the same time your hand is going up and down once.

In music we also learn about rhythm and rhythm is pattern. For this we played another game that is related to rhythm and the game is called danger patterns. In this game we have two teams playing against each other but for us we versed Mr. Caleb. In this game we also have two danger patterns one of them is loud and the other one is soft. With the loud pattern when Caleb does it we have to do it but loud if we do it and it is soft then he gets a point and is the same with the soft pattern if we do it and it is loud we lose and Caleb gets a point again.

I really enjoyed playing games and learning more about music I really wish to have more fun next term, I just wanted to say thanks to Caleb for teaching us all that we need to know about music for this term.

Technology

Technology
Today the Kia manawanui syndicate went to Tamaki college for technology anf today for technology I had to finish off working on my design which is a heart, I took my time because I wanted it to be perfect for my parents.

It took me about 4 or 5 minutes to finish off making it smooth, after that I went on to the next part which is same as before but now I am going to smooth me design with water spread all over.
It took me 2 mintues I wanted to rush it then becuase today was the last week of having technology until next term I really wanted to finish it today and take it home too but after it is smooth'n with water we then had to give it to our teacher Mr. Grudy and he will have to polish it then our design is finished.

Our design might be finished but we still had to make our box that our design would have to go in but I haven't got up to that part yet.

I enjoyed my time in technology today it was amazing and fun, I can't wait for next term where I can finish my things.

Timeline of a place in Panmure.

Timeline of a place in Panmure.
Today for Ako evening the Kia manawanui syndicate had options of what to do for Ako evening, for Ako evening today me and my buddie Grace are going to do a timeline of a place in Panmure and we thought of doing a timeline about our school Tamaki primary school.

So to start off our timeline of Tamaki primary school we first wanted to start it off with when the school first started, so we went downstairs to Mrs.Kelly our principal and asked her when the school first start. Before we went to Mrs.Kelly we first asked Kelly and she told us that the school first started in 1956 so just to be sure that's when we went to Mrs.Kelly, she told us that the school first started in 1952. Wow!!

After that we went to see the photos in the hallway that were near the library, by looking at the photos we rembered all the memories we had in that class like for example in 2016 we had EOTC which stands for Education outside the class. So as we just kept on popping up with more helpful things we then started to write them down for our timeline, basically for our timeline we just wrote down the events that happened in the past few years.

As I finished writing down as much as I could we both then left the hallway and went back upstairs, we got back and started to plan what we were going to do, we thought that we could do when the school began in the beginning of the timeline and as we go up we write in order what happened in each year.

After that we finished our draft and started again but this time it was going to be our published one. At first before we were going to do a timeline about this school we first thought about doing a timeline about the Panmure basin, we thought that it was going to be easy writing about the Panmure basin but then nothing helpful came to our heads about the Panmure basin we tried searching when the Panmure basin first start, so because nothing came up about Panmure basin we then decided to write about Tamaki primary school.

I had alot of fun learning about our school and I am suprised that this school began in 1952. I enjoyed writing a timeline about our school and hope to do it again sometime.
I have to say that we did had a few problems coming up with ideas for our timeline but then we got soem help from our wonderful teachers Ms. Aireen and Ms. Komor oh and Kelly.

Kia Manawanui Talent show!!

Kia Manawanui Talent Show!!
Today is the day where the Kia Manawanui syndicate perform their greatest talents, all day yesterday we stayed in class practising our items, we even had to perform in front of Mrs. Kelly the principal but luckly for me I knew all the actions to the song and also knew the words to 'This is me by Kealea Settle' at first I was nervous about the item I was going to do for the talent show with my group Lydia, Grace, Edith and Stephney.

Me and my group are going to perform a hula dance, pracitcing our hula dance was hard but watching Lydia do it made it look easy and simple, with alot of practice our item was looking polished and well done but I next time we may need to work on concentrating on ourselves and not worring about others but besides that I think that we are going to do a great job tonight.

Yesterday the Kia Manawanui syndicate took the time to practise our class song to start the show and to end the show. It took us at least 2 days to learn to the whole thing meaning song and dance. After practicing the song and dance we then got to rehearse the whole thing on stage, it was amazing and I loved it and I think that we are now ready to perform in front of our families and friends, just hoping I don't that everyone does well.

Thursday evening - (6:00)
It was then Thursday evening and it was time for us to go on stage, tonight was the night when I make my friends and family proud and to also help fundraise for the next term's camp. The only thing I needed to work on was to show a smile and to be confident.
As we went on stage to open the show with a song I saw the crowd looking for there childern/s  I then saw my mum sittig at the back and having her there to support me was great and that boosted my confidence. We then got into our positions and was ready to show the audience why we came here to do this. During the performance 'This is me' I started to get into it and at the same time enjoying it, Later on after leaving the stage and moving into the music room it was now time for everyone to enjoy all differnt items that the Kia Manawanui students have come up with.

While waiting for my group's turn to be called we then used that time to get ready for our performance, as we were all crowded in the same room I started to look on the students faces most of them looked nervous and others seemed confident and was enjoying themselves. Then it was time where me and my group was called to perform our hula dance, in the beginning of our performance I was nervous and tried to stay happy and joyful but I just couldn't I almost became aa frozen as a block of ice. All of a sudden my emotions started to change just as it got to the middle of our performance I then felt like I was not afraid to be seen by a group of adults and children. I was also trying to do the best I could to make everyone proud of what me and my group have done.

We then finshed our performance with a bow then left to the music room just as I got into the music room I then saw the students just playing around keeping everybody happy and confident. Even though we were finished with our hula dance I still know that it's not over yet meaning there were still more items left.

After seeing half perfromances we then had the school band set up for after just as we were getting the band ready we then had Caleb our music teacher sound check the instruments making sure that it was ready for the band to play. Just then it was time to start of the other half of performances  with the band singing to 'Hold on'. All members of the band were all here but except for our drummer Demetrius. The 2 keyboard players were Me and Leilani, the Bass guitarist was Stephney and the singers were Akanesi, Edith, Tevita and Amon. So taking Demetrius place for tonight was Caleb, while playing 'Hold on' I may have made a few mistakes but I still carried on.

Volleyball

On Monday the 9th of April we had trails for volleyball, we practice so hard to make into the team but only 10 students from each team was allowed to go luckly for me I made it into the team but the thing is that I didn't realize that the practice we had in the morning was the trails, if I knew trails was then I would've done better than before but at least I still made it in the team.
