IALT: Train for the upcoming Netball tournament

Greetings dear visitors, good morning, for the past two weeks we have been training for the upcoming Netball tournament, the coach(Faith) is a really good coach and is also a student from Tamaki College.

Two weeks ago we had trails for Netball and sadly I didn't make it into the team but I was glad to see that 3 of my bestfriends made it(Grace, Edith, and Arizona). I am happy for them and there is always next year. Although I wasn't in the team Faith(the coach) offered me, Lydia, Stephney, Monita, Aja, and Fa'a feiu to train with them. I was amazed to hear that we could train with them so I turned up to all practices but missed one.

Last week Friday Faith anounced that there were two more spots in the team meaning two girls will be picked to be in the team, so I am excited and cannot wait until after school training today. Hopefully she will anounce the new members of the team.

Verbs & Adverbs

Verbs & Adverbs
IALT: tell the difference between a Verb and an Adverb.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog, for today I will be telling or showing you the difference between an Verb and Adverb.

First before I start I would like to just state that the why I am doing this is because for writing WALA: Procedural writing. What's Procedural writing? Procedural is step by step for example in order of doing a process of something you need steps, so Procedural writing is a instruction writing. For example have you ever read a recipe, well yes that is an example of Procedural writing.

So now back to Verbs and Adverbs, the difference between a Verb and an Adverb is that a Verb is a doing work or Action words like run, walk, sprint, jog, grab, hold, while Adverb is still a Verb but is explaining how to do a specfic thing for example: Mix in bowl SLOWLY.

That is the difference between Verbs and Adverbs. Not only did you learnt something today but I also learnt something today.

Questions:
Do you know what a Verb or Adverb is?
Can you give an example of an Adverb or Verb?

๐ŸŽจ Art work๐ŸŽจ
WALT: Draw art elements and creating a piece of artwork that illustrates a natural disaster.

Kia ora and greeting to you all, in the past few weeks the Kia manawanui syndicate has been given two pieces of artworks to finish, one is for our poetic writing and the other is the steps of how a natural disaster happens, here is an example, this is my artwork:

The first artwork that you see is my poetic artwork, the second artwork that you see is the steps artwork.
I really enjoyed doing this tasks I managed to complete both artworks in time and I think that I could improve in adding more disaster to my first artwork which is about an earthquake.

Questions:
Have you ever written a poem?If yes then, what was it about?
Have you ever drawn an artwork about a natural disaster?

๐Ÿ“’ Technology๐Ÿ“’

๐Ÿ“’ Technology๐Ÿ“’
IALT: Draw 3D shapes and to compare and to contrast.

Hello and Greetings to you all that are visiting my blog today as you know is Technology, so as soon as we arrived we got into Comparing and Contrasting.
We were sent a DLO that had an orange and a Banana, we had to find what they both have in common and also had to find the differences.

But instead of finding the similarities and the differences between the banana and orange we had to find two different types of phone stands and Compare and contrast those two types of phone stands.
Here is an example of Comparing and Contrasting, this is my DLO:

After Comparing and Contrasting we moved into drawing 3D shapes,
we talked about how the D stands for dimentional or side.
From doing these two activites I learnt about the different things between two types of phone stands, I also learnt how to draw 3D shapes (although I already knew how to draw 3D shapes).

QUESTION OF THE BLOG:
Have you ever done graphics before? If yes then are you learning about the different types of phone stands?

๐Ÿ“šMaths๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿ“šMaths๐Ÿ“š
IALT: convert improper fractions into mixed fractions

Today during the middle block we FINALLY had the time to have a Maths session, YAY!!
So for Maths as you can see ontop the WALT it says 'IALT: convert improper fractions into mixed fractions.'

First of all we started off with completing an IKAN test, What's an IKAN test? well and IKAN test is where there are 4 stages and within the 4 stages there are 8 questions. The first 8 questions are simple basically they are just stage 4 questions for example: What number is one less than 600? Well if you didn't know the answer to that would be 599 that's Five Hundred and Ninety Nine. Again that's 5-9-9.
(Just making it obvious-THAT'S 5-9-9)

After taking the IKAN test we looked at the results and I got 19/24 if you dont know what 19/24 represents, well it means, that I got 19 correct out of 24. I repeat 19 out of 24.

Straight after the IKAN test we got into converting improper fractions into im mixed fractions, so for example 24/5 is an improper fraction, to convert it into a mixed fraction you have to use your division, so 24 divide by 5= 4r4, the r means remainder, so you will then have your answer 4 4/5 or 4 wholes and 4 fifth's. I really learnt alot from this Maths session, I learnt how to convert improper fractions into mixed fractions, I really enjoyed doing the IKAN test I have improved, homework club really paid off.

Maori Language Week

Maori Language Week
WALA: The culture of Te Reo Maori

As you know this week is Maori Language week and yesterday, we started the week with a assembly, after the assembly we came back to class and started our learning off with our Pepha, we also made our Pepeha earlier this year.
Here is my Pepeha:

After putting our Pepeha on a DLO we had to read our Pepeha using screencastify, after using screencastify we had to hyper link it to the Google presentation that was shared with us:
I enjoyed doing this task and learnt how to pronuce most words with the help of my friend Edith.
I hoped you enjoyed my blog about My Pepeha and have a great Maori language week!!

Technology - Graphics

Technology - Graphics
IALT: Make mobile phone stand

This week for Technology was the last time were we had to rotate for example, one group would've been in Hard Materials and that group has now finished their time at Hard Materials and now has to move into Cooking. Right now i'm in Graphics.

For Graphics we have Miss. Ferguson, for a few minutes we had to create a google drawing, and with that google drawing we had to explain random things about ourselves. Miss. Ferguson gave an example. Avatamaker.com was the site we used to create our selves in cartoon version, after adding pictures into our 'About Me' DLO we moved into got sent a DLO from Miss Ferguson, we had to find different types of mobile phone stands and had to add it onto the DLO that was sent to us.

I learnt how to use Avatamaker and also learnt about the different types of mobile phone stands.
I enjoyed Graphics it was amazing my thoughts about Graphics were wrong and I can't wait until our next session.

➕ ➖ Maths With Ms. Aireen ➖➕

➕ ➖ Maths With Ms. Aireen  ➖➕
IALT: Solve equations that are given.

Today for Maths with Ms. Aireen we had to solve a stage 6 question in a group.
In my group there was Akanesi, Carra, and Tevita. We all had a part in this task and helped each other out. In Maths we have the knowledge seekers and the knowledge holders, the knowledge seekers are those who are stuck and need help, the knowledge holders are those who know what to do or know how to solve the problem.

In my group the knowledge holders were Akanesi, and Tevita, and the rest, me and Carra were the knowledge seekers.
Here is the equation that was given to us:

Solomona has 81 tennis balls
There are 3 tennis balls in each can
How many cans should there be?

My groups answer to this equation was that there should be 27 cans.
Because 81 ➗ 3 = 27, how do you know that? Well we knew that 20x3=60 and 7x3=21 and so we added the to answers altogether and our answer was 81.
I had fun solving this equation with my classmates, I think that I could improve in my 12 times tables and up. But other than that I think that me and my group did a great job.

Please feel free to comment down below you thoughts about this blog.

Questions:
What's your favourite subject?
What times table do you need to learn?

๐Ÿ“Writing - Poem - Screencastify๐Ÿ“

๐Ÿ“Writing - Poem - Screencastify๐Ÿ“
IALT: share my poem by taking a screencastify

Malo e lelei and greetings to you all, as you all know for Writing the Kia Manawanui syndicate has created a poem based on a natural disaster. For this task I made a poem based on Earthquakes. If you have been going through my blog you will see that I once blogged my poem.

But for this blog I will be blogging me taking a screencastify of my poem, when you watch my screencastify you will see that I have added punctuation and figurative language which gives my poem detail and makes it intersting to read.
Here is my screencastify:

Once again here is my poem:
Dreadful Disaster

Tectonic plates slip, BANG!!
Earth’s surface begins to shake,
as if the earth had a stomach ache.
Along the surface there are cracks,
SMACK!!
As the buildings collapse.

Earthquakes are dangerous,
they cause a lot of damage.
Beware, no time to spare,
“OH NO!! disaster ahead!”

Caused by the tectonic plates, a tremendous, terrible,
Earthquake awakens,
destroying everything in its way.
People are shaking,
lives and homes for the taking.
The disaster has stopped, and many lives are loss,
if it’s worth people’s lives then I guess that is the cost.

Damage, destruction, and death is what Earthquakes have caused.
Leaving people nowhere to live,
hoping others will give,
anger and sorrow, not sure of what to do tomorrow.

Finally the disaster had stopped,
we have survived the dreadful disaster.
Joyful tears, happy cheers,
Sadness because of the loss lives,
be grateful, because we survived.

Thank you for your support, please feel free to comment down below your thoughts about my poem.
I would love the feedback, it would really help me.
