📜Class treaty/🥁Music/⚾Softball Reflection

Class treaty/Music/Softball Reflection
IALT: Reflect on my day.

During this whole week the Kia Manawanui syndicate has been learning about the Treaty Of Waitangi. Last year, 2018 Kia Manawanui syndicate students made a class treaty and so we did the same. We were put into groups and were also given a category to work with such as, Working in groups, Entering and leaving, Online, and In/out activites. In my group was, Syraiah-lee, Auckland, and Mason, we had to work with the category In/out activites.

We had to come up with a word that could relate to In/out activites and our word was 'Behave'. Within the word behave we had to find words that will fit in with behave relating to the school values and our category, for example,
B -  When leaving always Behave
E - Encourage others to join in the activites
H - Always Have fun
A - Have a positive Attitude
V - Show School Values
E - Engage with others to show Whanaunatanga.

After our morning tea during the middle block, we split into our two classes, room 9 left to Music with Caleb and Ms. Aireen while room 10 left with Mr. Jay to play softball on the school field. I left with room 9 to Music and basically learnt the names for parts of the drum an example, there is a Hi-Hat cymbal, Bass drum, Snare drum, Crash cymbal, High tom-tom, Floor tom-tom, Middle tom-tom, and last but not least Ride cymbal. During our Music session we also talked about how Music is sound and what 'Beat' is which is steady pulse another example, your heartbeat.

Later on after talking about the names for parts of the drum most students had a go on the drum playing along with the song (Billie Jean - Michael Jackson) The student who actually could play along on the drum was Fa'a fiu👍.
Not long after having a go on the drums we packed up and switched with room 10, so room 10 now had Music with Caleb and Ms. Aireen while room 9 had Softball with Mr. Jay, we first practiced our throw's or pitches, we got split into 2 groups groups of 7 or 8 and passed across to each other, we started off close together and then to make it challenging we moved a bit further from each other.

After we practice throwing to each other we then stayed in our same groups but one group with be fielding while the other group would be batting. I was fielding for first game and I must say practicing our pitches/throws and catching really payed off. We had a 3 or 4 games before finishing, there were some really intersting and hilarious moments.

I really enjoyed my day today and can't wait till our next softball practice and next Music session.
