WALT: Explore the past
This whole week we've been learning about the history of New Zealand, for the past few days we've been put into groups of 3 or 4 and within our groups we were given a station to work at, at every station there is a text/legend about or relating to the history of New Zealand. There was 8 stations and here are a list of the different texts/legends:
- Station 1 - The Arrival of Maori & Legend of Kupe
- Station 2 - The Voyage of the Arawa
- Station 3 - Maori life before the Europeans
- Station 4 - The legends of Hinemoa
- Station 5 - Captain James Cook
- Station 6 - The first Europeans
- Station 7 - Hongi Hika
- Station 8 - ?
- Station 9 - ?
At every station we have at least 15 minutes to read the text and discuss with our group what the text or legend is about, we also were shared a presentation which had the questions about the text/legend, we had to copy that slide and create a new presentation and paste the slide there on our own presentation. These questions related to the topic and gave us some ideas about what to discuss between our groups. Here is me and my group's presentation(we haven't completed our presentation just yet):
